What if I told you that in a few years time you would marry the man of your dreams? Or that you would have two beautiful daughters who are growing up so fast it gives you whiplash?
You’ve made a beautiful life and family, something you thought might never happen. Of course you’ve hit a few bumps along the way (OK, more like giant potholes), but everything turned out better than you could have imagined. We find adventure, love, and most importantly, belonging.
At this point in your life you wish you could just fast forward through all the disappointment, flakey friends, and heartbreak. But if I could give you any advice to help you endure the process of finding yourself and being happy along the way… it would be this:
Everything comes to you at the right moment. Everything that you’re going through right now is to prepare you for what you want. Admit it, you’re one of the most impatient people alive. One day you will learn that patience is the only thing that will save you from a mental breakdown after a day with a teething baby and a mischievous toddler. Well, that and a bottle of wine.
Don’t Worry About Him.
It wont go anywhere. Don’t ignore the red flags. If your mom doesn’t like him, or (most importantly) your dog doesn’t like him, you shouldn’t either. Always trust your dog.
Stop second guessing yourself. Your intuition has always been spot on. Listen to your gut. If something feels off it usually is. Take chances and speak up. You’re more right than you know.
Happiness starts with you. Smile, and hold your head high. You’re beautiful.
